Authorities have lifted an evacuation order in San Francisco's Mission District that was prompted by a gas line rupture this morning, a fire lieutenant said.

Construction crews hit a gas line at 18th and Valencia streets at about 10:30 a.m., San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.

Residents and businesses in the immediate area were ordered to evacuate while PG&E crews worked to repair the gas line. The evacuation order was lifted at 12:20 p.m., Talmadge said.
