Kindergartners at Ann Darling Elementary School went through a promotion ceremony on Tuesday morning.
Each child was handed a certificate from a local university president or chancellor, guaranteeing them admission to their school, if they meet the requirements.
The idea is the brainchild of the Silicon Valley Higher Education Roundtable, and its goal is to teach parents in under-represented communities that college is possible for their kids, and they can never begin planning too early.
