Retailers limit lead use in accessories

OAKLAND, CA

The companies will set new industry standards for lead use in their products, as part of a nearly $2 million legal settlement filed in Alameda County Superior Court this week.

The agreement settles a lawsuit filed against the companies last year by the Oakland-based Center for Environmental Health.

Retailers that signed onto the settlement include Macy's, Target, JC Penney and Victoria's Secret.
