Firefighters were called to Brook Court near G Street at about 5:30 p.m.
They had to evacuate the neighborhood to be safe.
The two-acre fire burned some fences and then began to spread uphill towards some more buildings.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the flames under control.
There is no official cause for this fire yet.
