A white BMW sedan was turning left from McAbee Road on to northbound Almaden Expressway at about 5:15 p.m. when a GMC Sierra pickup drove into the intersection and struck the BMW on the driver's side, San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia said.
The driver of the BMW was taken to Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police had not released his identity Sunday night.
A 67-year-old Los Gatos woman who was sitting in the BMW's front passenger seat was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Her injuries were not expected to be life threatening, Garcia said.
A 10-year-old girl riding in the back seat suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old San Jose man, was not injured.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
The cause remains under investigation.
