San Mateo County launches 211 helpline

SAN MATEO COUNTY, Calif.

The 211 helpline is a toll-free number that connects callers with a variety of community services, including employment assistance, permanent housing, quality child care, food and shelter assistance and counseling services.

The 211 helpline can also provide critical information in the event of an emergency, such as evacuation routes and food and shelter information.

San Mateo County Sheriff Greg Munks, Supervisor Adrienne Tissier and United Way of the Bay Area CEO Anne Wilson attended the 8:30 a.m. launch at the Elk's Club Terrace Room, which is located at 229 W. 20th Ave. in San Mateo.
