Kyriell joined STOP AIDS Project in January 2008 as Interim Program Director and signed on as Executive Director in March of that year.

A longtime HIV/AIDS activist, he has worked in the non-profit sector for 11 years and is elated to be at the helm of STOP AIDS Project during this period of extraordinary local, national, and epidemiological change.

Educated at Vassar College and Harvard University, Kyriell has also been a professor of Islamic studies, American religious history, and African American history at Harvard, Reed College, and UC Berkeley. When Kyriell is not at work, he's at home with his partner and their two sons.
