A downed cable has caused a massive power outage that shutdown all the underground lines for hours Thursday afternoon.
Crews reopened the K, L, and M lines in both directions around 6 p.m., but the J and N lines are remained shutdown at the intersection of Market and Van Ness.
Shortly before noon, one of the train's power arms got caught on a connector and dragged down a power line, pulling it into the tunnel and cutting power to all underground lines.
There were hundreds of commuters throughout the city waiting for bus bridges and not enough buses to go around.
