Two rescued from cliff at Big Sur

BIG SUR, Calif.

Carlsbad resident Ron Durham, 20, and San Marcos resident Jessica Martin, 18, became stuck on a cliff about 300 feet above the river on their way back from a swimming hole called the Gorge at about 7:30 p.m., deputies said. The two were trying to return to their campsite.

The Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team and the Big Sur Volunteer Fire Brigade assisted them back to the trail. There were no injuries.
