Demonstrators have been holding weekly protests, calling for the disbanding of BART police since officers shot and killed a homeless man in July at the Civic Center BART station in San Francisco.
San Francisco Assemblyman Tom Ammiano opened the oversight hearing today. The hearing is expected to include testimony from BART's general manager and BART's police chief.
