A Republican political action committee is about to launch a $500,000 cable TV ad campaign against President Obama and his administration's involvement with bankrupt solar company Solyndra.

The Fremont based solar panel maker filed for bankruptcy protection in September. A memo by the group, Crossroads GPS, indicated the three ads will hit President Obama for what they call "crony" government spending in his administration's half billion dollar loan guarantee to Solyndra. The group is associated with conservative Republican strategist Karl Rove.
