The panel voted Wednesday to expand its recommendation to include people 65 and older who haven't even gotten a whooping cough shot as an adult. The goal is prevent those adults from spreading the highly contagious bacterial disease to infants.
There were 10 fatal cases of whooping cough involving babies during a California whooping cough epidemic in 2010.
