For the fourth straight year, the East Palo Alto Police Department encouraged people to turn in their unwanted firearms. Every gun turned in came with a financial reward.
"We pay $100 per firearm and we've had people bring a minimum of one firearm and we had one individual who came earlier who provided us with 20 firearms," East Palo Alto Police Department spokesperson Kevin Ferreira said.
A total of 79 guns were turned into police.
