An officer was following a car at a high rate of speed on the Bay Bridge when the suspect's car crashed at the S-curve. At some point, a CHP officer fired off at least one shot. The suspect was not shot, but is injured because of the crash and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The suspect had a gun and tossed it over the bridge
The CHP has continued intermittent closures throughout the morning. Delays of over two hours have been reported to cross the bridge eastbound. Drivers are advised to take the San Mateo Bridge.
