Study links parents to teen who text while driving

The study was conducted by the University of Michigan. It found that more than 26 percent of teens aged 16 to 18 read or sent at least one text message every time they drive. That comes despite nationwide efforts to educate drivers on the risks.

The study also found that parents who do things like eating, drinking, or looking for something while driving were more likely to have teens who are also distracted.
