State workers may get back holiday

A bill is in the works to give state workers back a holiday they lost four years ago.

If it passes, the state government would shut down on the second Monday in October, not for Columbus Day, but instead for Native American Day.

The move would restore a day lawmakers took away from state workers in 2009. They currently have 11 paid holidays a year.
