MIT algorithm predicts popularity of Instagram posts

A student at MIT says he has the key to your popularity on Instagram.

The Ph.D candidate has created an algorithm that can predict how many views your photo will get. Before it's even uploaded.

Aditya Khosla says the key is to avoid things like spatulas, golf carts, or space heaters.

And the key is color, texture, and people.

He also says that miniskirts, bright colors, people, and various social cues, such as number of friends or photos previously uploaded, are key.
