CHP investigating early morning death on highway off-ramp in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- At least one person died early this morning on a highway off-ramp in San Jose, California Highway Patrol officials said.

At 4:14 a.m., CHP officials received a report of a van in the middle of the roadway, blocking a lane on the Santa Clara Street / San Carlos Street off-ramp of northbound state Highway 87.

CHP officials closed the off-ramp briefly, but have since reopened
