SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- At the same time that transit agencies are hoping to lure back commuters after the coronavirus pandemic, a campaign is underway.

The goal of this campaign? To get the fragmented network of 27 Bay Area transit operators to work together to coordinate fares, schedules and service to improve passenger experience.

The plan includes creating just one payment system and making transfers easier with coordinated connections.

This has been tried many times in the past, but a new State Senate bill this time will set a timetable with deadlines.
