Storm causes tree to fall onto car driving on Oakland's Highway 13
Crews are working to remove a 200-foot-tall tree from northbound Highway 13 in Oakland Saturday after it fell on top of a car.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Crews are working to remove a 200-foot-tall tree from northbound Highway 13 in Oakland Saturday after it fell on top of a car.

Officials said one lane is open to traffic at this time as the others are blocked by the tree.

The tree fell on top of the car as it was heading down the highway. The driver was not injured, but was trapped inside his car until crews arrived.

Crews had to cut some of the branches to get him out.

Drivers are encouraged to take an alternate route whild crews work to remove the large tree from the highway.
