DIY has become a big trend for couples planning their weddings, but a Seattle woman took it to another level when she crocheted her wedding gown, completing the dress for $30.

Chi Krneta worked on the floor length, v-neck gown during her 50-minute bus commute each day. It took about five months to complete the gown.

"I crochet a lot on the bus during my commute and have made other things like hats, scarves, and shorter dresses," Krneta told ABC News. "I knew I wanted to design and make my own wedding dress (I also sew) and figured that crocheting it would be the most efficient way to accomplish."

Crocheting the dress was also a touching way to honor her grandmother, who taught her how to crochet as a child but passed away several years ago.

In a post on Reddit, Krneta said that the dresses machine washable and she plans to wear it again with different colored linings.
