HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KGO) -- One of the world's best surfers was swallowed up by a massive wave at Mavericks near Half Moon Bay.

Garrett McNamara is talking exclusively with ABC News about last Thursday's gnarly wipeout on the 50 foot El Nino fueled wave. He hit the water three times, breaking his arm, before being engulfed by the giant wave. Some are calling it one of the worst ever. But, McNamara is already thinking about hitting the waves again.

"Surfing is my life. It's my passion. It's what I love to do. And, I will never stop surfing," said McNamara.

Mcnamara holds the world record for catching an epic 78 foot wave. The largest ever surfed.

He's okay, after he left in an ambulance.
