A nationwide salmonella outbreak in Southern California has spread to eight other states.

There are 31 cases in Southern California; mostly in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas most people ate sushi with raw tuna.

The patients range from a baby to an 83 years old.

Health investigators are trying to find the source; they have identified five clusters where sickened people ate from the same places.

Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps and death if not treated.
