People are trying to cope with the heat on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.
At Westmont High School in Campbell, there were lessons learned from Tuesday's heat wave. The school district decided on Wednesday to send all students from their seven high schools home early, before the midday heat started to settle in.

"Yesterday, when we were sitting in the classrooms, we were just miserable, nobody was focusing. Everyone was just complaining about the heat," student Wayne Morgan said.
With the high temperatures and no air conditioning in most classrooms, parents supported the district's decision.
Practices for most sports were cancelled, so students were left having a lot of time on their hands.
Thursday is expected to be a repeat of Wednesday.
