ALAMEDA, Calif. (KGO) -- A man died after being struck by a truck on a busy intersection in Alameda Monday afternoon.

The crash was reported at 12:03 p.m. in the vicinity of Constitution Way and Marina Village Parkway.

police say a 65-year-old Alameda resident was crossing Constitution Way when he was hit by a southbound vehicle in the right hand lane.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Alameda Fire Department.

Police have issued an announcement asking drivers to avoid southbound Constitution Way when exiting the Posey Tube while investigators

remain on the scene.
