World's wooliest sheep about to be sheared

TASMANIA, Australia (KGO) -- Two farmers in Tasmania believe they have found the world's wooliest sheep.

The farmers say the Merino ram has never been sheared and is weighed down by its heavy coat.

The wool is so thick it has fallen over the sheep's eyes. The coat is roughly 19 inches thick and believe it will break the world record for fleece yield when it's clipped later this week. That record is nearly 60 pounds.

Merino wool is among the finest and softest of any wool.
