LOS ANGELES -- Twenty-one people were injured after a Metro train crashed into two cars at the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Vermont Avenue near downtown Los Angeles on Saturday.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 10:50 a.m. Two train cars were derailed during the crash. Authorities said 21 people are injured, with 19 suffering only minor injuries. One person suffered serious injuries.
Another person is in critical condition and had to be extracted from one of the vehicles hit by the train.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
