PITTSBURG, Calif. (KGO) -- Friends and loved ones gathered Thursday to pay their final respects to a Pittsburg police officer who died from a heart attack while chasing a shoplifter.



Sky7 HD was overhead as the procession carried Ofc. Donnie Pearman's casket to his memorial service.

People lined up along the route and saluted as the procession drove by.



Pearman served with the Pittsburg Police Department for 22 years.



He was working a second job as a loss prevention officer at Macy's when he had the heartattack.



Pearman leaves behind an 8 year old son.
