A three-alarm fire has caused the evacuation of a Suisun City apartment complex on the 700 block of Sunset Avenue.

SUISUN CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- At least 30 people been displaced and 12 apartment units damaged by a three-alarm fire in Suisun City.

The fire call came in at about 2:20 a.m. Some residents said they may have slept through the whole thing, but brave neighbors knocked on doors and woke people up. One of those heroes said it took him a few minutes to realize how dire the situation was.

"I think I singed some of my hairs because I woke up so fast I didn't even realize was going on. I woke up, ran out and walked back into the house. I was like "is this a dream? 'Oh my god! It's really on fire!' That's when I started banging on everyone's doors," said Jonique Romar, fire victim.

There are 12 units at the apartment complex and all of them have some damage, with some worse than others. Eleven of the 12 units were occupied. A resident said there was renovation work going on in the empty unit.

Firefighters have not determined the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported.
