SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating after a teenage boy accused of driving a stolen car was allegedly shot by an officer in San Jose.
Police say one of the officers opened fire when the driver rammed his vehicle into patrol cars.
It happened on Saturday just before midnight on Story Road when police tried to pull over a car that had been reported stolen.
"Attempts failed when the officers tried to box the suspect's vehicle in. The suspect began to strike at least two of the patrol vehicles in the area," Ofc. Albert Morales said.
A girl who was a passenger in the stolen car was taken into custody.
Police are not releasing the exact ages of the suspects.
The boy who was shot is recovering in the hospital.
