RICHMOND, Calif. -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding an 18-year-old man suspected of shooting and critically injuring two people inside their Richmond home last Thursday.

Demetriaus Rashawn Robinson is wanted on a $2 million arrest warrant in connection with the double shooting that occurred around 10:55 a.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of Bayview Avenue, according to Richmond police spokeswoman Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

Investigators believe Robinson rang the doorbell or knocked on the door of the apartment, then shot a teenage boy and a man in his 20s after the door was opened. Two small children and a second adult inside the home at the time were uninjured by the gunfire.

The two victims were airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek in critical condition. Both are recovering from their injuries.

Abetkov declined to discuss a possible motive for the shooting but said the suspect and victims were familiar to each other.

Robinson is a black man with black hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, according to police. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to call Richmond police Detective Jason Wentz at (510) 621-1259 or the police department's anonymous tip line at (510) 232-TIPS.
