Santa Rosa Police investigating stabbing death

SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing death early Monday morning in southwest Santa Rosa, a police sergeant said.



Officers responded at 3:10 a.m. to a fight outside of a residence in the 2800 block of Red Tail Street off of Stony Point Road near Bellevue Ranch Park, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said.



They found a man on the ground who was bleeding from at least one stab wound. An ambulance took the victim to the hospital, where he later died, Banayat said.



Police are interviewing witnesses and have detained a person of interest, Banayat said.
