Palo Alto police: Man snapped photos of woman in restroom
Police are investigating an incident after a man followed a woman into a community center ladies' room and took photos of her.

PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- On the peninsula, police are investigating an incident after a man followed a woman into a community center ladies' room and took photos of her. This is the second time this has happened at the Cubberly Community Center in Palo Alto.

Police say the suspect walked in and used his cellphone to take photos of a woman using the bathroom.

People come to the Cubberley Community Center for basketball practice, daycare and college courses. Now, someone is using the women's rooms for their own disturbing fantasies.

"It's very bold and frankly disgusting," Palo Alto Police Det. Sgt. Brian Philip said.

Monday night, a man followed a woman into a bathroom in the 'J' wing. While she was in a stall, he used his cellphone to take photos of her. She noticed and started screaming.

Another woman reported the same crime, in the 'A' wing back in July.

Philip said he is concerned that this person's actions could escalate.

Those at Cubberley, especially at night, are worried. Student Rachel Herrera said, "I use that bathroom frequently, so I've never seen him. I've never had anything like that happen. But that's scary."

Student Danika Caravalo said, "That's disgusting. That's really alarming."

The suspect was pushing a metal cart down a hallway before last night's crime. Police hope to have a sketch by Wednesday.
