Oakland police investigating fatal shooting near downtown

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting early Sunday morning near downtown Oakland.

The shooting was reported sometime early this morning at 13th and Harrison streets, according to a police dispatcher.

No other information was immediately available.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a male victim is in stable condition after being shot Saturday night in West Oakland, police said.

The shooting occurred at 8:33 p.m. at Eighth and Adeline streets.

Officers who responded to the scene did not find any suspects or victims, but the male victim showed up at a hospital at 8:55 p.m., Officer J. Moore said.
