SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Many Bay Area transit agencies are providing free rides New Year's Eve.

Caltrain, AC Transit, SamTrans, VTA, and MUNI are all offering free rides.

They'll begin at 8:00 p.m. New Year's Eve and run until the early hours of the morning New Year's Day.

As part of New Year's tradition, BART will run extra trains until 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.

BART says trains will run every 20 minutes after midnight. But a reminder, some stations will be skipped due to overcrowding so you should plan ahead.
