NASA has released what it calls one of the most colorful deep space images of the universe ever captured. The bright display was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.

The photo is a composite of more than 800 photos taken by Hubble and shows about 10,000 multi-colored galaxies.

What makes this image so unique is the addition of ultraviolet and infrared to the picture. Hubble astronomer Zolt Levay says with this addition, people can now see the universe in the broad spectrum of color "and then some."

The image was created during nearly 850 orbits of the earth by Hubble from 2003 to 2012.
