Shelter-in-place ordered near Pittsburg High School over possible pipe bomb threat

PITTSBURG, Calif. -- A shelter-in-place order has been lifted after a bomb squad detonated a suspicious device in the area of Central and MacArthur avenues near Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg Sunday night.



The shelter-in-place advisory was issued at 9:30 p.m.



Residents were advised to stay indoors, close all windows and doors and only use phones for life-threatening emergencies, county officials said.



No further details were immediately available.
