Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry could return to full practice this week as he recovers from a sprained ligament and a bone bruise in his left foot.

Coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday that Curry is "day-to-day" but won't suit up for the Warriors in the postseason until after he has scrimmaged. The team is next expected to scrimmage on Thursday. Curry has been doing individual work on the court in recent days.

"The whole team will need a scrimmage given that we generally play every other day and all of a sudden we have six days between games, that's pretty unique," Kerr said. "Everybody will need a scrimmage but it would be irresponsible to put Steph out there in a playoff game without having scrimmage time before."

A source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that Curry remains a "close-call" to be available Saturday for Game 1 of the Warriors' first-round series against the Denver Nuggets.

"At the end of the week we'll determine whether he's ready or not," Kerr said when asked whether there is a timetable for making a decision about Curry's availability. "It's hard to predict much."

Curry has missed Golden State's past 12 games since suffering the injury in a March 16 loss to the Boston Celtics.
