Iranian student can't attend UC Berkley because of Trump travel ban
An Iranian computer science student hoping to attend UC Berkeley will not be able to attend his program this summer because of President Donald Trump's travel ban.

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- An Iranian computer science student at UC Berkeley is caught up in President Trump's travel order.

Amir Sharifzadeh has been accepted to Berkeley's summer program in Quantum Computing.

However, because of the president's executive order he's not allowed to work at Cal to try and pay his own way.

Also as a non-U.S. citizen, he's also not eligible for school funding.

He has made an appeal to the university, and a GoFundMe account for him is already over the five thousand dollars he needs.
