LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- The air quality has been downgraded to poor in Lake County due to the fast-moving Valley Fire. Meteorologist Drew Tuma says the smoke and the ash combination is trending towards that poor and unhealthy air over the fire.

One of the reasons why crews are having such a hard time containing the fire is because of the chaotic winds. According to Drew, it's such a big fire that it's actually acting as its own weather system and creating its own winds.
There is some encouraging news, however. There are some chances for rainfall mid-week.
