Takeaway of the Day
The main front has moved on and so has the widespread rain, but isolated showers will continue through late tonight.
A Beach Hazards Statement is up for our coast until 9 p.m. tonight and for the northern part of Monterey Bay until 3 a.m. Sunday. This is due to the fact that there is a moderate to high risk of sneaker waves.
A High Surf Advisory goes up from 9 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. Sunday as 18-to-25-foot large breaking waves are expected. This will mean dangerous conditions in the water for swimming or surfing so be careful.
A Winter Storm Warning remains up for the Sierra above 5,500' until 10 p.m. tonight. Driving will remain hazardous due to snow and gusty winds.
The Look Ahead
There will be some fog tomorrow morning with reduced visibility. It's a dry weekend with a combination of sun and clouds. Sunday is brighter and milder. The warming trend will continue next week and by midweek, temperatures will rise above January averages.
