AAA projects 50.9 million people across the U.S. will travel 50 miles or more for this Thanksgiving, a 3.3 percent increase over last year. 44.5 million will be driving.

"Waze," the world's largest community-based traffic and navigation app, is offering tips for drivers. They say the worst time to travel on Thanksgiving Eve is from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. On Sunday, the worst time to travel is 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Waze also say navigations to supermarkets will be up 49 percent higher than average, and peaking at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

On Black Friday, Waze says drives to retailers peak from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
