The egg is made of nearly 20 ounces of platinum, yellow gold and 3,000 diamonds and rubies.
Stanislav Kaufman of Van Craeynest Manufacturing was inspired by the Faberge egg, and wanted to create his own, called the American egg.
"I decided put all my energy and skills into one big, big piece something big, that people can see, beauty of, it's like a picture," said Stanislav Kaufman, jeweler.
And even in these tough economic times, the American egg has a prospective buyer. He's scheduled to come and look at it next week.
