A relative of 5-year-old Dylan Koenig, 6-year-old Elizabeth Hopkins and 9-year-old Lonnie Hopkins took them from their home in the city's Parchester neighborhood after a woman their mother thought was a babysitter decided to leave them by themselves at about 7 p.m., Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said.
The mother spoke to her three children at about 8:30 p.m., after which a relative collected them to be looked after before the mother arrived home, and left no word of where they had gone, French said.
They were reported missing to the Richmond Police Department at about 10:50 p.m. Friday, French said, who announced their safe return at about 5:25 a.m. today.
