Many experts believe this could be one of the worst summer fire seasons California has faced, since late spring rains mean brush will be thicker and taller than it usually is.
CAL FIRE urges you to take several steps to make sure your home is protected, especially if you live next to large, open or wooded areas. That includes clearing defensible spaces around your home.
"We're all in this together. Your fire service is in this with you, you are in this with your fire service. You play a critical role in preventing wildfire," a participating firefighter said.
The state also points out its fleet of firefighting airplanes will be ready to go if any fires break out around California.
