The San Francisco Girls Choir starts a weeklong tour of Cuba on Saturday.

On Friday night there was a send off concert at Calvary Church on Fillmore Street. The 40-member choir will give four concerts with a special Fourth of July celebration.

It will also take part in Master Classes and perform with Cuba's leading choral ensembles. The choir sang at President Barack Obama's inauguration.

Last year it won two Grammy Awards for Mahler's Eighth Symphony with Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony.
