British guidelines suggest exercise for babies

LONDON

The new British government guidelines say even babies who can't walk yet should engage in physical activities every day, playing on their stomachs or swimming with their parents.

The campaign urges kids under fire who can walk to be active at least three hours a day, or triple the time suggested by the American government.

Doctors say exercise prevents heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers later in life.
