A dropped backpack has brought a roller coaster to a halt at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, prompting the rescue of 24 people from the ride.

Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown says the California Screamin' ride came to an automatic stop around 6:30 p.m. Friday when someone's backpack fell onto the track.

She said firefighters were called to the scene to bring 24 people safely down by ladder.

There were no injuries.

The attraction opened ten years ago when the theme park opened next to neighboring Disneyland.
