Study: Daylight Saving helps fight childhood obesity

November 9, 2011 2:32:53 PM PST
Researchers in Britain say switching to Daylight Saving Time year-round could help in the fight against childhood obesity.

Researchers say they found that children are more influenced by daylight rather than weather when it comes to making a decision as to whether or not to play outside.

The study suggests that not changing the clocks back would give children more opportunity to be active outside -- the biggest factor in fighting obesity.

The research was published in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health.
