ATM repairman pleads no contest to stealing $200K

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.

The San Mateo County Times reports that Samuel Kioskli entered his plea Wednesday to felony counts of embezzlement and possession of counterfeit documents.

Prosecutors say Kioskli grabbed stacks of $20 bills from seven Bank of America ATMs in Daly City and San Francisco. Customers who withdrew cash from the machines on July 5, 2010, instead got the slips of paper and called the bank.

Surveillance footage caught Kioskli in the act.

The 64-year-old fled the area after the thefts, and police found him nearly a year later in Arizona after a traffic stop.

He faces up to 16 months in prison at his Jan. 10 sentencing.
